I was today made aware of the fact that a shitty metal gig is taking place at Mr Boogie Man Bar in Abbotsford tomorrow night. The following infos is sourced from Jews Against Fascism and Antifascist Alerts on Telegram. It’s unclear at this stage if the venue bookers/managers/owners know or care about the gig, but in my experience venues that indulge creeps tend not to benefit from doing so.
Sadly moving this guy on somewhere else, the nasty rhetoric he spouts will become someone else’s problem. There is only a couple of ways this kind of person can be silenced, initially by making it impossible for them to do anything while showing their hideous beliefs, the other can be discussed if the need is there.
Whatever happens, people who have sick and warped views should be ostracised by normal society.
You can’t stop a man from thinking crap, but you can stop a man from acting on his crap thoughts.
As I see it, the most that can be done is to try to limit the social space within such political tendencies are tolerated and can flourish.
